Day 44.... This morning Ty had his bronchoscopy and it went well. His vocal chords are working. SO HE GOT HIS TRACH OUT!!!! He did well all day and is back in his regular room back in peds. So now we can work on him talking. He still is having a little trouble swallowing but he is working at it. He is starting to move his fingers and toes again. He has lost a large amount of musce and is very weak so he has not been able to move his extremities as much as he was at first. But hopefully as we slowly progress that will improve. We will know more in the next couple of days if the insurance will approve more therapy days in the hospital or if he has to go home for awhile. Thanks for all of the wonderful comments on the blog. He will really enjoy being kept up on the school news and daily goings on. Daily prayers are the best medicine!!!!!

Our thoughts and prayers continue for you and your family Tyler! Things are sounding positive. Even if you need to go home for a short time, we know you will keep working hard and get back into rehab.Elijah says to tell you hello and he will miss you tomorrow but knows you will be back with the guys again soon!!

Kara...I am so sorry it has been so long since I have been up to see you both, but I continue to think and pray for all of you. I hope insurance will come through and let him stay...but if not Kara please call me to help you out, you are going to need help and I am willing to do whatever is needed. Please take advantage of the offer. You have my cell number and my home number please call with what I can do! If Tyler stays in Toledo longer I will get up soon (promise!)Stay strong and positive. This has been such a long journey and it is not close to being over, but you do not have to go through this alone...Take care. Christy

Just a reminder... Tomorrow begins the "POP TABS FOR TYLER" friendly competition between Van Wert and Archbold. Both schools will have containers at each weeks football game where pop tabs can be tossed in as we collect them for the Ronald McDonald House which has been such a blessing to Bob and Kara and family. We are contacting the schools that we play in hopes that they too will join in with us as we give back to such an awesome organization.
If anyone has questions or if you are unable to make it to a football game but are collecting pop tabs, please contact me and I will come pick them up!!
Thank you so much and let's all remember as school has started and we all get into the busy routine that comes with school, to continue to lift up Tyler in prayer and keep on cheering him on!! We love you Ty and can't wait for you to be back with your buddies laughing and just being you...
Continuing to pray..
